Thank You to all who made our Silent Auction & Spaghetti Dinner a success!
Each silent auction item donation, bid and monetary donation is appreciated and brings us one step closer to our goal!
Over 150 community members and volunteers celebrated the Community Foundation of Northern Rosebud County last Saturday night at the Fairgrounds. Called the BBB — for BBQ, Bids and Boogie — “the best darn party of the year,” the event brought together donations of over 50 silent and live auction items with lively community members who enjoyed bidding and winning a wide variety of treasures. Nearly $20,000 was raised.
The 2024 Eldon Rice Spirit of Community Award was presented to Marge Simenson. The award recognizes those who demonstrate their love of community through volunteering and service. The recipient is awarded $1,000 to be given to the service organization or project of their choice. Marge has chosen to give her award to The Samaritan Pantry.
“The event brings the community together and shines a light on the work the Foundation does” said donor Jeanne Spannagel. “It’s a great way for folks to see how their charitable donations stay local to benefit the important projects and service organizations their families and friends are involved in”. The party marked the Foundation’s 15th year of service to Forsyth, Ingomar, Angela and Rosebud and included a BBQ buffet and live music.
The Foundation is grateful for the generous donors who gave items, cash and gift cards, for the volunteers who gave their time and talent and for the Forsyth and Rosebud FFA members who helped set up, host and take down the event. Learn more about grants and projects at CFNRC.org and on Facebook.

“I was really impressed with all the grant applications,” said CFNRC Board Vice-President Charlee Prince, “We had applications for everything from the Garden Club’s Rosebud Health Care Center Grounds improvement, to supporting a DVD (Hats off to Ranchers) that pays tribute to area ranching and ranchers, to providing Forsyth Youth Soccer new goals, to the City of Forsyth Branding Project.”
“It is important to note that the Community Foundation Board awards the funds through a strategic granting process,” added CFNRC Board President Robert Engle, “And this Spring’s grantees excelled in the development of their applications.”
